Friday was one of those days. You know, when the world feels like it is freezing over. I felt angry, frustrated, hurt and deflated. I was ready to give up. In a way I did. I surrendered and let go, detached from the outcome and logged off for a weekend away with my family.
This evening I logged on to my facebook page and went to check on my two public pages: Going Blue 4 U and SimpLee Serene. I almost fell off my chair, my heart was racing, I had to stop and pinch myself. Both pages had almost doubled in new community members, likes and shares.
“What on earth?” I asked out loud.
So I began some super sleuth work. I had my assumptions of who was responsible for this, but I needed to be sure.
I shared a heartfelt, vulnerable cry for help message on Friday, to a woman I have never met in real life. A woman who, has inspired me on so many occasions and been there at just the right time. A woman with a heart of gold and the owner of an inspirational community based out of the UK. Stacey of Fresh Minds Matter, has touched my heart to the core with her kindness, support and unconditional love.
You see, people say they will support you and quite often will not follow through with action from their words. Stacey took action, she reached out to a group of inspirational pages on Facebook, and shared my story with them and asked to support me. Stacey, was the catalyst to create conversation and spread the word about Going Blue 4 U and SimpLee Serene, and the cause I am so passionate about – mental illness awareness.
A CommUNITY Takes Action with Love
A group of women I have never met from all over the world – from UK, New Zealand, US, Australia and Canada, came together as a commUNITY to lift me up, to show their support, kindness and generosity. There are so many facebook pages that have hundreds of thousands of likes and many of these women are in that category, and here they were, utilizing their influence to help little ole me.
What these women did, was an example of pure love and support, with no hidden agenda, no expectation of anything in return. Simply put they gave from their heart.
