Day 4 – 100 Day Commitment

Currently Reading

I am in awe of the raw vulnerability and sharing of personal experiences that Debbie Ford is sharing in her book Courage.  Many of which I can relate to on so many levels.  I find it interesting that I picked this book to read next, and as I read two chapters each day, it seems to be what I need to hear to move through some challenges that I am facing at the moment.

“When you realize that there is a part of you that is actively participating in your daily drama, you will start to let your authentic self emerge.  It is then that your fears become secondary to your power, strength, and confidence.

and then a few pages later:

“The greatest act of courage is to be and to own all of who you are – without apology, without excuses, without masks to cover the truth of who you are.”

This inspired me to look at ALL of me.  I journalled about my long term relationship with jealousy, judgement, the mistakes I’ve made and continue to make, but also the positive side of these imperfections that make up the perfectly imperfect me. I felt a release and lightening as I publicly shared the poster I created to the right, on my facebook page.  I gave myself permission to accept all parts of me, the dark and the light.

What are your imperfections, and how can you accept them with kindness and grace?

    Thanks Sus,
Yes the imperfections are truly a gift. I like your friend’s way of thinking – beautiful. Big hugs right back.

Great inner work Lee. Wow. Plenty of synchronicities.
As for my imperfections, there is truly not enough room to dive into all of them here! We each are truly our own greatest critic, and learning to shed the light on our dark side is the greatest gift that we can give to ourselves. As a friend of mine says, “There is really no such thing as a ‘dark side’…it is just a part of us that has not yet been exposed to the light.” ;) In gratitude to you for walking your path. Big hugs
