When the student is ready the teacher always appears. Since I was 21 I have smoked. I have quit more times than I can count.
My 12 year old daughter and I are watching Monte Carlo, I asked to pause it so I could go have a cigarette. While we were downstairs, she said to me:
“Mom, I want to go to somewhere in Italy. I want to travel, when I am old enough to travel by myself.”
“Sweetie, I want you to write in your journal of all the places you want to go, and believe that you will go there.” I said to her.
Then as we finished pouring our coca-cola, I left to go outside for a cigarette.
“Mommy, please don’t go.” was all she said
As I smoked the cigarette, I thought to myself – I just chose nicotine over my daughter. I am brave enough to quit right NOW. I am brave enough to honor my health, myself, my beautiful daughters and my wonderful husband.
I AM Brave enough to QUIT.
Thank you to my beautiful girl, who inspires me to be brave every day.
Hugs & Love
