This week has been a whirlwind of opportunity and excitement for SimpLee Serene. Everything from increased website hits, an unbelievable surge in product sales, David from Three Gears taking care of utilizing Social Media more effectively, becoming the 6th OnlyGreen Founder in North America, to planning a Fundraising event in 10 days. I am filled with gratitude from the events of the week, the interesting thing is, I have so much going on, yet in no way do I feel overwhelmed or out of balance, actually I feel completely in alignment with all that I value! Inspired Action in alignment with my Values and Purpose I believe are the key!
On Monday evening, I decided to JUST DO IT, and organize the “Serene & Green Fundraising Event” in Invermere, BC. Tuesday morning I booked the hall at the Chamber of Commerce and contacted the two local papers. What has happened in 4 short days is incredible. Kira at the Invermere Valley Echo has been a source of great support, information and encouragement, and today I had the pleasure of doing an interview with Dave at the Echo for an article that will be featured next week.
This morning, I went door to door to some of the businesses in Invermere, and the response was so inspiring and gave me such confidence that this event is going to be a tremendous success. Every store I approached agreed to hang a poster in the front window, and also donated a prize for the Silent Auction. I went to Sobeys and in the front area was a lady selling raffle tickets for the Family Resource Centre – I purchased some tickets and shared my event. It turns out this lady is the Coordinator for the Outreach Program at the Resource Centre and was so encouraged and filled with gratitude that I have the courage to share my story, as she knows many of women who will benefit.
I will be sharing my story from “Desperation to Serene (serene~shining bright & steady) and intend to inspire, educate and empower people on learning more about Mental illness and suicide, as well as ways in which they can reach out for help and make proactive healthy choices in their lives. Writing my book and sharing openly my experience with anyone willing to hear continues to fill me with such appreciation for where I was just 5 years ago, and where I am now. I receive so much, knowing that maybe, just maybe I will inspire at least 1 person to reach out for help instead of taking their life.
Tickets are $20 with all funds going to ICAN Animal Shelter, and the Silent Auction funds will be going to the much needed New Rescue Vehicle for the valley.
